1 - DESIGN
Optical calculations made using two software packages: ZEMAX and SOLSTIS.
2- GENERATING
The starting point is a block of glass.
The generating represents the outlines of the final part: The piece
of glass is machined into the desired shape (prism, lenses, inspection
window, etc.) with dimensions close to those of the finished part.
3- POLISHING
The generated parts are then smoothed before undergoing a traditional
polishing that makes them transparent with a very accurate radius.
The final inspection is by interferometry or using templates.
The quality of polishing is determined by standardized visual inspection.
4 - OPTICAL COATING
Three evaporation chambers are used to produce different coatings:
metallic, multi-layer anti-reflection, multi-dielectric, resistive,
etc.
5 - CENTERING AND EDGING
The operation consists of making the optical center coincide with
the mechanical center of the lens.
6 - INSPECTION
All components are inspected on suitable test benches:
- FIZEAU interferometer,
- Spectrophotometer,
- Auto collimator,
- MTF test bench,
- etc.
7 - ASSEMBLY
After the inspections, the optical components are assembled into
the corresponding mechanical systems.
The assembled system then undergoes more quality inspections. (FTM test bench, Auto collimator)
